Sheraton Buganvilias Resort and Convention Center

Insider tip: At the end of the Malecón is Puerto Vallarta's main square, Plaza de Armas. Near the square is the bell tower of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, topped by angels holding aloft a wrought-iron crown--an enormous replica of the one worn by Carlota, empress of Mexico from 1864 to 1867. The church was built over a 33-year period, from 1918 to 1951.

The Sheraton Buganvilias Resort offers 557 spacious guestrooms, studios, and one-bedroom suites in a 13-story Hotel Tower and a 15-story Suites Tower. All rooms, studios, and suites feature tropical decor that includes white-stucco walls, pale tile floors, and bright fabrics.

Resort Rooms and Towers Rooms are located in the Hotel Tower and include floor-to-ceiling ocean-view windows but no balconies. Studios and one-bedroom suites are located in the Suites Tower and include ocean-view balconies as well as fully equipped kitchenettes.
